Voices

MenaVoice comes with 30 studio voices, fifteen female and fifteen male, each with its own character. Press play to hear a voice, then copy its ID to use it as voiceId.

​Use a voice

Pass the voice's ID as voiceId in a text to speech request:

• Voice IDs are lowercase English names, like khaled or noura. The API also accepts a voice's English name in any capitalization, such as Khaled.
• Without a voiceId, Layla speaks. An unknown ID also falls back to Layla, so check the voice field in the response when users choose voices.
• Every studio voice works with MenaVoice 2, 1.5 and 1v, and in every dialect.

​List voices with the API

GET /tts/voices returns every studio voice with its names and description in English and Arabic. It doesn't need an API key, so you can call it to build a voice picker:

​Choosing a voice

• Try it with your real script. A voice that shines in an ad may be too energetic for a tutorial.
• Match your audience. A calm, mature voice suits banking and health; a bright, upbeat one suits retail and entertainment.
• Pair contrasting voices in dialogues. A female and a male voice, or a bright and a deep one, make it easy to follow who's speaking.
• Stay consistent. Use the same voice across a series or product so listeners recognize it.
